Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on the 28th of October, 1967 to Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Julia Fona Roberts is the 4th generation Roberts living in Atlanta. Her father was a young man when he began to take an interest in theater. As a student in Emory University he appeared in diverse productions, both in and outside of campus. He joined the military in 1953. While stationed in Biloxi Mississippi, he was a part of an army production that featured Betty Lou Bredemus who was as well in Air Force. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in 1957. Walter attended Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana following his departure from the Air Force in the year 1957. Walter worked with Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the couple relocated to Decatur Georgia. Walter and Betty Lou started production in 1964 for the children's local Saturday morning show on television called Bum Bum and His Buddies that they self-funded. Later that year they founded the Actors and Writers Workshop which was in operation for six years. They were blessed with two additional youngsters Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in the year 1965, in 1965 and Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
